Gibo Teodoro

I’ve seen so many politicians and TRIED considering them to get my vote, but their always the same trapo(traditional politicians) I’ve seen, promising the same things. All of the presidential candidates are promising things we’ve heard time in memorial. I have seen the debates and all of them have the same old promises, and they also have their usual imperfections.

I guess when it all boils down to it, the campaign ads are there to remind us of what we choose. I’ve worked in movie and commercial production and I know how they all do their commercials – where they get the extras, how they make the song. It’s all the same – there are children, there are schools. They all don’t seem real to me.

But if you take it up a notch and show something that we didn’t expect. Something completely unreal. I guess it shows how a candidate thinks, because all of it goes through his approval anyway.

I particularly love Gibo’s concept for a campaign ad. I know w all tend to be skeptics, but right now, since every politician seems to look and promise the same, I want to see something that goes slightly against the grain. We’ve got his team to thank for, of course, but all the other politicians could have done the same thing, like Dick Gordon could do an action star rescue mission, or Erap could relive his movie star scenes from one of the classic movies – people who support him love him for his being an actor anyway.

I’m monitoring his progress, right now he’s one up from the others, but I guess there’l be more debates, more ads, more political sabotage that’ll go his way. I can never be sure if he’ll win. There are so many candidates to choose from. I want a president who will go against the grain. I’m just hoping that whoever wins this coming election, make change real.

Hey, we all loved Obama, I can only hope we get someone like him here. I’m sad for the Philippines because I’ve been heartbroken time and again. I know whoever wins won’t make the change immediately, but at least for the sake of my future children, I’m hoping this country wouldn’t be what we see it as when they grow up and make decisions like I’m making mine now.

This is just my opinion and my dear brothers and sisters, we are not enemies just because we’re voting for different candidates – fighting with each other because of petty issues is the last thing this country needs.

I love the Philippines, but if it doesn’t help me help my family. It’s not turning my back against it, but I need something to be able to support my family and raise them in a good environment. I’ll always be a Filipino, but if I have to source out to build a better future, I hope none of you will take it against me. Being a Filipino doesn’t mean staying here and fighting it out in the mud. If I find myself somewhere else, I’ll still be a Filipino and that’s not something I could easily forget.

If I’m going to fly out in the unknown part of my life, I don’t want to leave with a look of shame upon my country. I want to be proud to be a Filipino when I leave and I would definitely want him to be my pilot.
